What people ask before designing an apartment or condo.
New construction or an existing unit?
Both. In new construction, the design sets layout and finishes before closing. In an existing unit, the design starts from what's there and what you want to change.
Do I need an architect or an interior designer?
If walls move or plumbing and electrical get redone, an architect. If the focus is layout, built-ins, materials and lighting, an interior designer. The brief lets you pick, and the proposals show who answers.
Does my HOA or building require stamped drawings?
Many do, for work that touches structure or building systems. Say so in the brief and ask for a licensed professional in the proposal.
How much does it cost?
Posting your project is free. Every pro sends their own proposal with a price and a timeline. You pay per phase, as you sign off on each deliverable.
Can it be designed without a visit?
Yes. The floor plan, photos and a video walkthrough are enough for most projects. A visit, when it makes sense, is set up directly with the pro.
