Can the kitchen open onto the living room?

Yes. I would take that wall down and add a counter. Proposal coming today.

Great, thanks.

— FAQ

Questions about room design online

What people ask before changing a single room.

Is it worth hiring a design for one room?

It is when the room doesn't work: not enough space, bad light, built-ins that don't fit. A design solves that before you buy anything.

What do I get?

It depends on the proposal: a dimensioned layout, 3D renderings, a cabinetry design, a color palette and a furniture list. Every proposal spells out the deliverables before you decide.

Designer or decorator?

If the room needs built-ins, lighting or new finishes, an interior designer. If the focus is color, furniture and accessories, a decorator. The brief takes both.

How much does it cost?

Posting your project is free. Every pro sends their own proposal with a price and a timeline. You pay per phase, as you sign off on each deliverable.

Do I need a visit?

Usually not. Photos, measurements and a video walkthrough are enough. A visit, when it helps, is set up directly with the pro.
