Is a design worth it for a small remodel?
A design sets what to demo, what to build and the order of the work. On small remodels it prevents rework and helps you get bids from contractors.
Does the design include the construction?
No. The design is the drawings and the specs. Construction is contracted separately, with the design in hand. If you want construction administration, ask in the brief.
How much does a remodel design cost?
Posting your project is free. Every pro sends their own proposal with a price and a timeline. You pay per phase, as you sign off on each deliverable.
Do I need an approved design to remodel?
It depends on what changes. Remodels that touch structure, the exterior or building systems usually need a permit and a licensed professional. Describe the remodel in the brief and the pros tell you what applies.
How does the pro understand the property without visiting?
