Architects Alice Cecchini and Roman Joliy have crafted a 50 square meter room that merges with the natural forest surroundings, emphasizing the symbiosis of nature and education.

House in Umenoki: A Personal Retreat Amidst Community Heritage in Japan

Designed by Hidekazu Kishi Architects, the House in Umenoki represents a personal yet community-conscious approach to residential architecture. Situated adjacent to an enduring community center in Nisshin, the 85 square meter home is a testament to the balance between personal space and communal heritage. The dwelling features timber elements that reflect traditional Japanese design sensibilities, while integrating modern elements that cater to a generational shift in residential development.

In Zhuzhou, the Echo of the Ruins by 1Y Architects transforms an abandoned industrial space into an evocative open-air museum.
