Sections and elevations
Every page the atelier carries under Sections and elevations.
- Select in sections and elevationsVSelect picks what a section or an elevation shows by the same rules as the plan: a click takes one thing, Shift adds or removes, Alt and a click reach what lies behind, and a box dragged with the left button takes many. The middle button pans the drawing, so the left button is free for the box.
- Move in sections and elevationsMMove, in a section or an elevation, takes what you selected, or the element you click, from a base point to a second point of the view, across the drawing and up. Each element takes the part of that travel it can: a window slides along its wall and its sill rises, a floor moves its level up or down, a wall slides along the view, and the marks drawn on the view move whole.
- Dimension in sections and elevationsDDimension, in a section or an elevation, measures the distance between two points of the view: you click the two points, then where the dimension line sits. The value is always measured from the drawing, never typed, and the dimension belongs to that view alone.
- Grid in sections and elevationsAGrid, in a section or an elevation, places a structural grid axis with one click: the axis runs straight across the cut line at the point you click, and the plan draws it at once. It is lettered when it fixes a position along the plan's x and numbered when it fixes one along y, in the order the axes were placed.
- Detail drawingLUYZSThe detail tools draw your own marks on one view: lines, rectangles, white masks, annotations with an arrow, and hides that take one of the drawing's lines off. The marks belong to that view alone and never change the model, so a section can carry a note the plan never shows.
- Joint grips in sections and elevationsWhen walls, pipes or beams are selected in a section or an elevation, each place where their ends meet shows as a vertical tick from the level's floor to its top. Dragging a tick moves that joint along the view, and every run meeting there follows, the way it does on the plan.
